Quick answer
Can you get into the ANA Lounge & Suite Lounge?
  • ANA business class, premium economy, or Star Alliance Gold status gets you into the ANA Lounge in Honolulu when you fly ANA or an international Star Alliance flight that day.
  • The ANA Suite Lounge is stricter. It's for first class passengers and ANA Diamond Service members only, each with one guest.
  • Flying ANA in economy on a paid ticket? ANA sells lounge access at Honolulu for $80 per person, bought online before your flight. Award tickets and the Suite Lounge are not eligible.
  • No credit card gets you in directly. The card path is earning United Premier Gold (Star Alliance Gold) or holding a United Club membership that ANA honors on Star Alliance flights.
  • It opens at 8:50 a.m. and stays open until the last ANA flight leaves, so it is built around the Tokyo departures, not evening flights.
  • Atmos status does not work here. ANA is Star Alliance, and Atmos Rewards is oneworld, so Atmos Gold and up get you nothing at this lounge.

Here's the short answer for the ANA Lounge Honolulu question: if you're flying ANA to Tokyo in business class or premium economy, or you hold Star Alliance Gold status (United Premier Gold and up counts) on an international Star Alliance flight, you're in. If you're flying first class or you're an ANA Diamond member, you also get the more exclusive ANA Suite Lounge next door.

For a lot of us locals, ANA is the Japan airline we fly most, between the Flying Honu A380 and the 787s to Narita and Haneda. These two lounges are, in my opinion, the best food at HNL. Here are the current entry rules as of October 2026, including the paid option most people don't know about.

ANA Lounge vs. Suite Lounge

What's the difference between the ANA Lounge and the ANA Suite Lounge in Honolulu?

The ANA Suite Lounge in Honolulu is the first class side, open only to first class passengers, ANA Diamond Service members, and ANA Million Miler lounge card holders, while the regular ANA Lounge admits business class, premium economy, and Star Alliance Gold members. Both are on level 3 above Gate C4 in Terminal 2, side by side.

Inside, the two feel related but not identical. The regular ANA Lounge has a hot buffet with Hawaiian and Japanese dishes, a full bar, and a family area with space for kids. The Suite Lounge is quieter, with more personal service and a few extra Japanese touches on the menu. Neither has showers.

  • ANA Lounge: business class, premium economy (ANA-operated), ANA Platinum and Super Flyers, Star Alliance Gold, paid access buyers.
  • ANA Suite Lounge: first class, ANA Diamond Service, ANA Million Miler lounge card holders. No paid access.
  • Extra guests: ANA Diamond and Platinum members can bring a second through fourth guest by paying with ANA miles or upgrade points.
Credit cards and day passes

Can a credit card or day pass get you into the ANA Lounge at HNL?

No credit card gets you into the ANA Lounge at HNL by itself. The ANA Lounge is not in Priority Pass, and The Platinum Card from American Express does not get you in. The card path runs through United: earning United Premier Gold (which is Star Alliance Gold), or holding a United Club membership that ANA lists as accepted on Star Alliance flights.

The real paid option is ANA's own lounge purchase. ANA sells ANA Lounge access at Honolulu for $80 per person, tax included, on ANA-operated international flights with a ticket number starting in 205. You buy it on the ANA website or in Manage Booking, up to 24 hours before departure. There's no counter at HNL, award tickets don't qualify, and it does not cover the Suite Lounge.

Where it is

Where is the ANA Lounge at Honolulu airport?

The ANA Lounge and ANA Suite Lounge at HNL are in Terminal 2 on level 3 of Concourse C, directly above Gate C4. After you clear security in Terminal 2, follow signs toward the C gates and look for the escalator up to the lounges.

This is the lounge built for the ANA A380 Flying Honu. It's set up so premium passengers can board the upper deck close to the lounge, which is a fun touch. If you're connecting from a United or Air Canada flight at the G gates, plan on about a 10 minute walk.

Hours

What time does the ANA Lounge in Honolulu open?

The ANA Lounge in Honolulu opens at 8:50 a.m. and closes after the last ANA flight of the day departs, per ANA's 2026 schedule. Before July 1, 2026, it opened at 8:30 a.m., so older posts may show the earlier time.

Since the hours are built around ANA's Tokyo flights, it's not much help for evening Star Alliance departures. For those, the United Club above Gate G3 is the better bet.

ANA vs. United Club

Is the ANA Lounge better than the United Club at HNL?

For most Star Alliance Gold members and business class passengers, the ANA Lounge is the better pick over the United Club at HNL. The food is better, it's usually calmer, and the family area is a real plus with kids. The United Club wins on hours (it's open from early morning into the evening) and on location if your gate is in the G concourse.

If you have time and access to both, eat at ANA. If you're flying out on United to the mainland, the United Club is your only option of the two, since Star Alliance Gold doesn't open the ANA Lounge for domestic trips.

Step by step

How do you use the ANA Lounge & Suite Lounge at HNL?

  1. Check your access. Business class, premium economy on ANA, Star Alliance Gold on an international flight, or a paid lounge purchase.
  2. Add your status number to the booking so Star Alliance Gold prints on your boarding pass.
  3. Clear security in Terminal 2 and head toward the C gates.
  4. Go up to level 3 above Gate C4. The ANA Lounge and Suite Lounge entrances are side by side.
  5. Show your boarding pass and mileage card. Guests must enter at the same time as you.

Scottie's Take

The best food at HNL, if you're flying Star Alliance to Japan.

Real talk, this is my favorite lounge in the airport. The food is fresh, the Hawaiian and Japanese mix feels like home, and it's calm even when the A380 is boarding. If you're flying ANA to Tokyo in business or premium economy, take your time and eat here.

The $80 paid option is the sleeper. If you're flying ANA economy on a paid ticket and want a calm start to a family trip, it's worth a look. Just remember it doesn't work on award tickets, and Atmos status won't help you here at all.
