Quick answer
Can you get into the Korean Air Lounge?
  • Korean Air First and Prestige Class passengers get into the Korean Air KAL Lounge in Honolulu on a same-day Korean Air departure to Seoul.
  • SkyTeam Elite Plus members get in on a same-day international SkyTeam flight in any cabin, plus one guest. Delta Medallion Gold and up is SkyTeam Elite Plus.
  • Atmos status does not get you in, at any tier. Alaska and Hawaiian are oneworld, and this is a SkyTeam lounge.
  • There's no day pass and no Priority Pass access. No credit card gets you in directly.
  • It's a Seoul flight lounge. Hours are built around Korean Air's late morning and early afternoon departures, so it's not a general hangout spot.

Here's the short answer on the Korean Air Lounge in Honolulu: you get in if you're flying Korean Air in First or Prestige Class, if you hold SKYPASS Morning Calm Premium or Million Miler status, or if you're SkyTeam Elite Plus on a same-day international SkyTeam flight. Everyone else, including every Atmos tier, is on the outside.

This one matters more for us locals than it used to. Korean Air is ramping up Honolulu to Seoul, going to 12 weekly flights from late October 2026 and up to 14 weekly over the winter, while Asiana's Honolulu flights wind down in December. If you're heading to Korea this year, there's a good chance you're on Korean Air.

Who can get into the Korean Air Lounge at HNL?

The Korean Air Lounge at HNL admits Korean Air First and Prestige Class passengers, SKYPASS Million Miler and Morning Calm Premium members, and SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying a same-day international SkyTeam flight. Is the Korean Air Lounge in Honolulu open in 2026?

The Korean Air KAL Lounge at HNL appears to still be operating in 2026, with independent airport guides updated in May 2026 still listing it in the Terminal 2 Garden Court area. Korean Air is also adding Honolulu flights, which is a good sign the lounge is staying put.

That said, I couldn't confirm the current hours with Korean Air directly, and the published hours I found don't agree with each other. If you're counting on it, check with the Korean Air check-in counter or the Korean Air app before you head through security.

Heads up

Lounge hours at HNL have been all over the place this past year. For this one, ask at check-in. Korean Air staff will tell you exactly when it opens for your flight.

SkyTeam status

Does Delta status get you into the Korean Air Lounge at HNL?

Yes, Delta Medallion Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members are SkyTeam Elite Plus and can use the Korean Air Lounge at HNL when flying a same-day international SkyTeam flight, like Korean Air to Seoul, plus one guest who is also flying SkyTeam. Delta Silver Medallion is only SkyTeam Elite and does not get lounge access.

A Delta flight from Honolulu to the mainland on its own won't do it, since SkyTeam Elite Plus lounge access needs an international itinerary. For Delta trips to the mainland, the Delta Sky Club is your lounge.

Credit cards

Can a credit card get you into the Korean Air Lounge at HNL?

No credit card gets you into the Korean Air Lounge at HNL. It isn't part of Priority Pass, and it isn't one of the Amex Centurion or Delta Sky Club locations that premium cards open. The only card play is indirect: earning status or points that put you in a Prestige Class seat.

If you have Priority Pass and you're flying Korean Air in economy, your fallback at HNL is the IASS Hawaii Lounge in the same Garden Court area, or the Premier Club over in Terminal 1.

Where it is

Where is the Korean Air Lounge at Honolulu airport?

The Korean Air Lounge at HNL is in Terminal 2, in the Garden Court lounge area one level below departures, near the Chinese and Japanese cultural gardens. After security, follow the signs for the Garden Court or airline lounges, then take the stairs or elevator down. It sits right by the IASS Hawaii Lounge.

Korean Air checks in at Terminal 2, so you don't need to change terminals. Leave yourself a few extra minutes the first time, because the Garden Court is easy to walk right past.

Compared to others

Is the Korean Air Lounge in Honolulu worth it?

If you qualify, the Korean Air Lounge at HNL is worth a stop, mainly because it's quiet and close to your gate area, but don't expect a flagship lounge. Reviews describe a small space with light snacks, soft drinks, beer, wine, and Wi-Fi. The real Korean Air lounge experience is at Incheon on the way home.

Step by step

How do you use the Korean Air Lounge at HNL?

  1. Check your ticket or status. Prestige or First on Korean Air, SKYPASS elite, or SkyTeam Elite Plus on an international SkyTeam flight.
  2. Add your SkyTeam number to the booking so your Elite Plus status prints on your boarding pass.
  3. Ask at check-in when the lounge opens for your flight, since posted hours vary.
  4. Head to the Garden Court after security in Terminal 2 and go down one level.
  5. Bring your guest only if they're flying SkyTeam. Elite Plus and Morning Calm Premium members get one guest.

Scottie's Take

A lounge for Seoul flights, not a lounge for us Atmos folks.

Real talk, most of my clients will never see the inside of this one, because most of us are building Atmos status, and Atmos does nothing here. That's not a knock on the lounge. It's just a SkyTeam door.

If you're flying Korean Air Prestige to Seoul, enjoy it, grab a drink, and save your appetite for the Incheon lounges. If you're flying Korean Air in economy, I wouldn't stress about it. The garden outside is honestly a nice place to wait.
