Quick overviewTap to expand
  • The five best deals are kamaʻāina hotel rates, not Labor Day sales. Prince Waikiki starts at $219 with the resort charge waived. Ka Laʻi runs up to 40% off with free valet.
  • No airline is running a Labor Day fare sale from Honolulu. The Alaska and Hawaiian fall sale closed August 27.
  • China Airlines is the one Labor Day branded fare sale. Booking runs through September 18, 2026, but it needs a West Coast start.
  • Atmos Rewards Global Getaways is now monthly. The next drop is Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
  • Luggage is where the real Labor Day discounts are. Tumi is up to 40% off, Calpak and Monos end September 8.

The best deals available to Hawaiʻi residents this Labor Day weekend are standing kamaʻāina hotel rates, not holiday sales, and most of them can be booked now for a stay months from now. Below are the ten I would actually click on, ranked, with direct booking links. No history lesson, no strategy deep dive. Just the deals and where to book them.

One note before the list. Given the current hurricane situation, I am keeping the staycation picks on Oʻahu only. If you live on a neighbor island, book these for a future date rather than a flight this weekend.

The 5 Oʻahu kamaʻāina hotel deals

All five are exclusive to Hawaiʻi residents and require a valid Hawaiʻi ID or state driver's license at check-in. All five were confirmed live on the property's own site on September 5, 2026.

1. Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts (best luxury value)

PLACEHOLDER ALT TEXT: pool deck at Ka Lai Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels and Resorts. Confirm before publish.
  • Up to 40% off rooms and suites
  • Complimentary valet parking
  • Daily food and beverage credit
  • Waived pet fee
  • Early check-in and late checkout when available

The free valet is the part people undervalue. Waikīkī valet routinely runs $50 or more a night, so on a three-night stay that perk alone can beat the room discount.

2. Prince Waikiki, Kamaʻāina Fall Into Fun (best straightforward value)

PLACEHOLDER ALT TEXT: Prince Waikiki. Confirm before publish.
  • Ocean Rooms starting at $219 a night
  • Resort charge waived
  • 50% off parking, self or valet
  • Poolside cabana discount

Booking window runs through November 10, 2026, and the travel window extends well past this weekend into 2027 per the offer terms. A one-night deposit is required at booking and cancellation is 72 hours. Blackout dates apply and rates move with availability.

3. Hilton Hawaiian Village, Staycation! Yaycation! (best for families)

  • Resort charge waived
  • 50% off self-parking
  • 20% off the Spirit of Aloha Catamaran Adventure Sail package
  • Mandara Spa discount and discounts at participating restaurants

The room rate is not the headline here. Killing the resort charge and halving parking is what changes the math on a Village stay. If you book by phone at (808) 949-4321, ask for package P3.

4. Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa (best stack of percentages)

PLACEHOLDER ALT TEXT: Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa. Confirm before publish.
  • Up to 30% off the Best Available Rate
  • 50% off valet parking
  • 50% off resort fees

Three separate savings instead of one discount on the room. Taxes still apply and rates change with availability.

5. Aqua Palms Waikiki (best budget pick)

  • Up to 30% off room rates with promo code STAYLOCAL
  • Daily amenity fee waived, listed by the property at $30 a night plus tax
  • Complimentary one-category upgrade when available
  • Late checkout when available

The amenity fee waiver is a limited-time piece of the offer. The current terms on the booking page say it is waived for kamaʻāina bookings through December 23, 2026.

Good to know

Every one of these is a standing kamaʻāina program, not a holiday flash sale. That means you do not have to travel this weekend to use them. Book now, stay in November, stay in January. More of these are tracked on our travel deals page.

6. Atmos Rewards Global Getaways (set a reminder for October 7)

Global Getaways takes up to 50% off one-way economy awards to a rotating set of international cities. The promotion used to be quarterly and is now monthly, launching on the first Wednesday of each month as part of Atmos Members Day, with a booking window of roughly four days.

September's window closed today. The next drop lands Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Put it in your calendar now, because that recurring date is worth more to a Hawaiʻi traveler than any single month's list.

7. China Airlines Labor Day fare sale (the only airline running one)

China Airlines is the one carrier with an actual Labor Day branded fare sale this year. Booking runs September 4 through 18, 2026, for travel October 1, 2026 through May 21, 2027, excluding December 11 to 24.

  • Los Angeles or Ontario to Manila from $787
  • San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh City from $814
  • Seattle to Taipei from $744
  • New York to Manila from $1,018

There is no Honolulu origin in this sale, so this is a positioning play. It only pencils out if you already have a cheap or award-booked hop to the West Coast. If Asia is the goal, our guide to flying to Japan from Hawaiʻi is the better starting point.

8. Dolphins and You, 25% off Oʻahu tours

Quick word on this one and the next. Tour discounts usually get written up for visitors flying in, which is not who we are. This is for the weekend you decide to play tourist in your own backyard. Most of us have lived here for years and still have not done the sunset cruise or taken the kids out to Mānoa Falls, and a discount is a decent excuse to finally go.

And You Creations is running code LABOR25 for 25% off tours, covering Dolphins & You, Turtles & You, Nature & You Waimea, Mānoa Falls, the Circle Island tour and the sunset cruise. The code is not valid on Ocean and You Friday departures. No end date is published beyond "limited time."

Test the code at checkout before you commit. Their site has been running an expired banner code alongside this one, so confirm the discount actually applies to your cart.

Use code LABOR25

9. Cool Hawaii, 10% off Big Island tours

Same idea if you are already headed to Hawaiʻi Island to see family. Code LABOR takes 10% off Big Island tours and tickets, booked on their site, not combinable with other offers, no published end date.

Worth knowing this is a reseller rather than the tour operator, so the discount comes off their retail price and not the operator's direct rate. Compare against booking direct before you use it, and book it for a future date rather than this weekend.

10. Labor Day luggage and gear

If you want a real Labor Day discount, it is in retail, not travel. Luggage is where the deepest cuts are this year, and that includes premium brands that almost never go on sale. Most of these end September 7 or 8.

Calpak, Antler and Tumi terms were confirmed on the brands' own sites on September 5, 2026. Samsonite, Travelpro, Monos and Away terms are as reported by The Gate on September 5 and The Points Guy on September 2, 2026. Several of these sales publish no end date, so confirm the discount in your cart before you pay.

Shipping to Hawaii is the part these roundups always skip. Antler's US delivery is reported to exclude Hawaii, Alaska and US territories entirely, so a 20% discount is worth nothing to us if the order will not ship. Others add a surcharge or a longer transit time that is not shown until the final screen. Put the item in your cart, enter your Hawaii ZIP, and look at the real total before you decide which sale is actually the best one.

Non-luggage deals as tracked by The Points Guy on September 2, 2026. I did not re-verify these on each retailer's own site, so treat the end dates as approximate and check the price before you buy.

Quick tip

Do not click straight through to any of these. Start at a shopping portal first and stack the cash back on top of the sale price. Rakuten has been paying 2% at Patagonia and 3% at Merrell, and Calpak has shown 2 points per dollar through the Chase portal. Portal rates change daily, so check Cashback Monitor for the live best rate before you buy. Here is our Rakuten guide if you have not set it up yet.

What is not on sale this weekend

Worth saying plainly, because people assume otherwise and go looking:

  • No Alaska or Hawaiian Labor Day fare sale. Their fall Hawaiʻi sale closed August 27.
  • No Southwest, United, Delta or American Labor Day sale. Nothing announced.
  • No Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt or IHG Labor Day promotion. The active hotel promos are ordinary monthly bonus point offers, not holiday sales.
  • No Hawaiʻi hotel Labor Day rate. Every kamaʻāina offer above is a standing program that happens to be available this weekend.

Scottie's take

Labor Day is a retail holiday, not a travel holiday. That is the honest read on this weekend. The airlines are not discounting, the hotel chains are not discounting, and the one points promotion that mattered expires before most people finish their coffee this morning.

But that is not bad news for us, because the offers that actually save local families money are sitting there year-round with nobody promoting them. Prince Waikiki at $219 with no resort charge and half-off parking is a legitimately good night in Waikīkī, and you can book it today for a stay in February. Ka Laʻi with free valet and a daily dining credit is the one I would pick for an anniversary.

If you only do one thing after reading this, make it the calendar reminder for Wednesday, October 7. A recurring monthly award sale that nobody local is watching is worth more over a year than any single Labor Day banner. Set it, check your Atmos Rewards balance, and be ready to book inside that four-day window.

Which one are you booking? Drop a comment and let me know, and if you find a kamaʻāina rate I missed, send it my way so I can add it.

FAQ

Do I have to travel over Labor Day weekend to use these kamaʻāina rates?

No. All five hotel offers are standing kamaʻāina programs with travel windows extending months out. Prince Waikiki's booking window runs through November 10, 2026, and Aqua Palms waives the amenity fee for kamaʻāina bookings through December 23, 2026. You can book now for a stay later in the year.

What proof of residency do Hawaiʻi hotels require?

A valid Hawaiʻi State driver's license or Hawaiʻi State ID with a Hawaiʻi address, presented at check-in. Prince Waikiki states that without proof at check-in, you will be charged the best available rate instead. Some properties also require the booking to be made in the resident's name.

When is the next Atmos Rewards Global Getaways sale?

Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Global Getaways runs monthly as part of Atmos Members Day, which lands on the first Wednesday of every month, with a booking window of roughly four days. Discounts reach 50% off one-way economy awards, and premium cabins are not included.

Is there a Labor Day airfare sale from Honolulu this year?

No. No carrier serving Honolulu announced a Labor Day fare sale in 2026. The Alaska and Hawaiian fall Hawaiʻi sale closed on August 27. China Airlines is running a Labor Day branded sale through September 18, but it has no Honolulu origin, so it requires a separate flight to the West Coast.

Are the Labor Day luggage sales worth it for Hawaiʻi shoppers?

They are the deepest genuine Labor Day discounts available this year, with most ending September 7 or 8. Factor in shipping time and cost to Hawaiʻi before you buy, and start from a shopping portal so you earn cash back or points on top of the sale price.

A hui hou, Scottie
