What is the September 2026 Global Getaways deal?

Global Getaways is a discount of up to 50% on Atmos Rewards award tickets to a rotating set of destinations, released monthly on Atmos Members Day. September's edition must be booked by Saturday, September 5, 2026, and covers six destinations in economy only, on trips originating or ending in the United States.

The promotion runs on the first Wednesday of each month, which means more chances to catch a deal but a much shorter window to act. One thing stays constant: it lowers the price of saver award seats, it does not create them. If nothing shows, space is not open on those dates.

How much is Honolulu to Tokyo with points?

Tokyo is 20,000 Atmos Rewards points one way in economy from Hawaiʻi, versus 27,500 from the West Coast, for travel September 2 through November 18, 2026. Hawaiian Airlines operates the nonstop from Honolulu, so this is one of the rare award deals where living in the islands is the cheaper starting point.

The Global Getaways landing page displays Tokyo at 27,500 points. That is the mainland number. The 20,000 point Hawaiʻi rate only appears once you run an award search with a Hawaiʻi origin. Do not look at the promo page, see 27,500, and assume you missed it. Put HNL in the origin field and price it there.

Two people to Tokyo and back at the Hawaiʻi rate is 80,000 points. Priced off the West Coast it is 110,000, on identical seats. The travel window covers shoulder season through the front edge of kōyō, the fall foliage stretch, which is exactly when cash fares are not cheap.

Tokyo at 20,000 points from HNL is not a technicality or a routing trick. It is Atmos pricing our market below the mainland on a nonstop we can actually book, with a travel window that opens the same week the sale does. That is as clean as these get.

If Japan is anywhere on your list this fall, book it. Kōyō season on a Hawaiian nonstop for 40,000 points round trip is a redemption I would tell my own family to take without overthinking it, and free cancellation means the downside of booking a maybe is basically zero. Just remember the promo page will show you 27,500. Search from HNL.

The one I keep coming back to is Apia. Nobody covers that route because nobody outside Hawaiʻi and the Pacific cares about it. But we have a big Samoan community here, and a 25,500 point nonstop to Faleolo in January is a real thing for families who normally pay cash for a flight that is never cheap.

When does the September 2026 booking window close?

Booking must be complete by Saturday, September 5, 2026. Tickets have to be issued inside that window to get the promotional price. Travel dates extend well beyond it: September 2 to November 18, 2026 for Tokyo, and January 5 to February 28, 2027 for the other five destinations.

Why does the promotion page show Tokyo at 27,500 and not 20,000?

The landing page displays the mainland rate. The 20,000 point Hawaiʻi price is real, but it only appears when you run an award search with a Hawaiʻi origin such as HNL. Search the route directly rather than judging the deal from the promo page.

Can I book Global Getaways in business class?

No. Discounts apply to main cabin economy only, on trips originating or ending in the United States. Business, first, and premium economy price at the standard rate. This has been true of every cycle, so do not wait for a premium cabin version.

Can I add a stopover?

Yes. Atmos allows one enroute stopover of up to 14 days per one-way on eligible international itineraries, and two on a round trip with one in each direction. From Hawaiʻi that means you can break the trip on the mainland for up to two weeks in each direction at no extra points cost.

What if there is no award space on my dates?

Global Getaways lowers the price of saver seats, it does not create them. If nothing shows at the promotional rate, saver space is not open on those dates. Shift your dates a few days before adding connections, and check both Tokyo airports. The next Members Day lands on the first Wednesday of October 2026.
