Quick answer
Can you get into the Plumeria Lounge?
  • Atmos Gold, Platinum, or Titanium status gets you into the Plumeria Lounge in Honolulu when you fly Hawaiian Airlines internationally that day, plus one guest.
  • Alaska Lounge and Alaska Lounge+ members get in too, with a same-day Alaska or Hawaiian boarding pass, and can bring immediate family or up to two guests.
  • Anyone flying Hawaiian can buy a $40 day pass, when space allows. Kids under 2 are free with a paying adult.
  • Priority Pass no longer works here. Priority Pass access to the Plumeria Lounge ended April 1, 2025. Priority Pass members now use the Premier Club downstairs instead.
  • Business class on an international Hawaiian flight gets you in with no status, and so does a paid or award first class seat on a long mainland flight.
  • The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite lounge passes do not work here. Those passes are good at Alaska Lounges only.

Here's the short answer on the Plumeria Lounge at HNL: you get in if you're Atmos Gold or higher flying Hawaiian internationally that day, if you hold an Alaska Lounge or Lounge+ membership, if you're in business class to an international destination, or if you pay $40 for a day pass on a Hawaiian ticket. Atmos Silver, Priority Pass, and the Atmos Summit card's lounge passes do not get you in.

A lot changed in the last 18 months. Priority Pass got pulled in April 2025, HawaiianMiles became Atmos Rewards, and Hawaiian joined oneworld on April 22, 2026. Most of what you find on Google is still the old rules, so here's how it actually works as of October 2026.

Can you buy a day pass to the Plumeria Lounge in Honolulu?

Yes. The Plumeria Lounge at HNL sells a one-time day pass for $40 per person to travelers with a same-day boarding pass on Hawaiian Airlines. You can add it during check-in on the web, the app, or a kiosk when space is available, or ask at the lounge front desk, where the agent decides based on how full it is.

A few rules to know before you show up with the whole ʻohana. Every person age 2 and up needs their own pass, so a family of four is $160. Kids under 2 are free with a paying adult. Anyone under 21 has to be with an adult 21 or older on the same itinerary. Passes are credit card only, single entry, and non-refundable.

Is $40 worth it?

For one person on a delayed evening flight, often yes. For a family of four, $160 for a small room with a buffet is a hard sell. That's when it pays to have one parent on an Alaska Lounge membership, which covers the immediate family.

Credit cards

Can a credit card get you into the Plumeria Lounge at HNL?

No credit card gets you into the Plumeria Lounge at HNL directly in 2026. Priority Pass access ended on April 1, 2025, so cards like The Platinum Card from American Express and the Chase Sapphire Reserve no longer work here. Those Priority Pass members now go to the Hawaiian Airlines Premier Club downstairs.

The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite ($395 annual fee) comes with 8 lounge passes a year, issued two per quarter, but they are good at Alaska Lounges only, not the Plumeria Lounge. Where a card does help is earning Atmos status points toward Gold, which is what actually opens this door on international trips.

Where it is

Where is the Plumeria Lounge at Honolulu airport?

The Plumeria Lounge is in Terminal 1 at HNL on the third floor, one level above the gates, near the Wiki Wiki Shuttle stop. The signage is small, so follow the Wiki Wiki Shuttle signs after security and look for the escalator going up.

Heads up: as of October 3, 2026, Hawaiian moved check-in and bag drop for international flights to Terminal 2, Lobby 4. If you're flying Hawaiian internationally, you check in over in Terminal 2, and the terminals connect airside. Depending on your gate, the JAL Sakura Lounge in Terminal 2 may be the closer option for Atmos Gold and up.

Plumeria Loft

What is the Plumeria Loft at HNL?

The Plumeria Loft is a small, invitation-only room next to the Plumeria Lounge at HNL, in the space that used to be Apartment 1929. Hawaiian offers it on a surprise and delight basis to some international business class passengers. You can't request it, buy into it, or use status to get in.

It holds about 24 people and has an outdoor terrace, a buffet, a noodle station, made-to-order drinks, and a shower. If you get the tap on the shoulder, say yes. Just don't plan your day around it.

What's coming

Is the Plumeria Lounge being replaced?

Alaska and Hawaiian are building a much larger premium lounge at the entrance to the Mauka Concourse in Terminal 1. The most recent update in September 2026 put it at about 13,000 square feet with room for around 200 guests, with an early 2028 opening. Neither airline has said yet whether the Plumeria Lounge closes once it opens, so for now this is still the main Hawaiian lounge at HNL.

Step by step

How do you use the Plumeria Lounge at HNL?

  1. Check your path in. Atmos Gold or higher on an international Hawaiian flight, an Alaska Lounge membership, an international business class seat, or a $40 day pass.
  2. Add your Atmos number to the booking so your status shows on your boarding pass.
  3. Buying a pass? Do it at check-in. Adding it on the web or in the app is easier than hoping the front desk has room.
  4. After security, follow the Wiki Wiki Shuttle signs in Terminal 1 and take the escalator up to the third floor.
  5. Show your boarding pass and ID at the desk. Each guest needs a same-day boarding pass too.

Scottie's Take

The best Hawaiian lounge we have, until the new one opens.

Real talk, the Plumeria Lounge is small and it fills up around the evening mainland and international flight banks. But the food is better than the Premier Club downstairs, the room is calmer, and the staff actually take care of you. For an Atmos Gold heading to Japan or Sydney, it's a solid place to sit before boarding.

Where I see locals waste money is buying a credit card for Priority Pass thinking it still works here. It doesn't. If you want this lounge regularly, the real paths are Atmos Gold or an Alaska Lounge membership, and the membership makes the most sense for families who fly the mainland a few times a year.
