How to Fly to London With Atmos Rewards Points From Hawaiʻi

Yes, you can fly from Hawaiʻi to London on Atmos Rewards points, and as of May 21, 2026 it is easier than it has ever been. Alaska now flies a daily nonstop from Seattle to London Heathrow on its Boeing 787, so from the islands you connect through Seattle and step off in the UK one sleep later. The whole trip books on a single Atmos award: 30,000 points one way in economy, which is a great deal, or one of the lie-flat suites up front.

Atmos is the natural home program for us, so this guide is built around it. I will also show you one secondary trick near the end, for anyone who happens to hold American miles, but Atmos is where most kamaʻāina should start. Let me walk you through the pricing, the discounted suite dates, and exactly how to book from Hawaiʻi.

The Route at a Glance

This is a real long-haul international product, not a stretched domestic run. The quick facts:

  • The flight: Alaska AS100 leaves Seattle at 9:40 p.m. and lands at Heathrow at 3:05 p.m. the next day. The return, AS101, departs London at 5:00 p.m. and is back in Seattle the same evening.
  • The plane: a Boeing 787-9 with 34 enclosed lie-flat suites, a premium extra-legroom cabin, and a refreshed main cabin. Daily, year-round, out of Heathrow Terminal 3.
  • The catch for us: the nonstop only runs from Seattle, so from HNL, OGG, KOA, LIH, or ITO you connect through SEA.

A nice bonus is coming later this year: Alaska is adding free Starlink Wi-Fi for Atmos Rewards members on these 787s starting in fall 2026, so you can stay connected the whole way across the Atlantic.

What London Costs in Atmos Points

Atmos is the simplest way to book this for most of us. It is the program we earn in every day, it puts the whole Hawaiʻi to London trip on one award, and it lets you add a free stopover in Seattle. Here is the one-way pricing on the nonstop:

  • Economy: 30,000 points. A genuinely good rate for a nonstop to Europe.
  • Business suite: around 150,000 points at the standard rate, but Alaska discounts select dates to as low as 75,000. That is the number to hunt for.

Economy at 30,000 is an easy yes. The suites are where it pays to be patient: at the regular 150,000 points they are a splurge, but on the discounted dates a lie-flat bed and multi-course dining across the Atlantic becomes a smart redemption. Here are the discounted suite dates I have been tracking:

  • Seattle to London: Jul 15 and Jul 21, 2026 at 75,000 points, and Jul 26 at 95,000 points.
  • London to Seattle: a discounted suite has been showing on Sep 1, 2026 for the return.

Quick Tip

Discounted suite dates are specific and they move. Since Atmos awards are cancel-friendly and your points come back, the smart move is to grab a good suite date the moment you see it, then build the rest of your trip around it.

Booking It From Hawaiʻi

From the islands you fly to Seattle first, then connect to London. A few things to know before you book:

  • Start with the Seattle date. The nonstop is the bottleneck, so lock your open economy or suite day out of SEA first, then build your Hawaiʻi connection around it.
  • Watch the distance math. Atmos prices on total distance flown, so adding the Hawaiʻi to Seattle leg can push a through-award into a higher band. Price the full HNL to LHR award against two separate one-ways and take the cheaper.
  • Use the free stopover. Atmos allows a free stopover of up to 14 days on a one-way international award, so you can break the trip in Seattle and see the mainland on the way to London.
  • Earning is the easy part. Atmos points pile up for us through Atmos cards and Bilt transfers, so a London award is well within reach. A single strong welcome bonus can cover a round-trip economy ticket.

Other West Coast Routes to London

The Seattle nonstop is the cleanest way to go, but it is not the only one. Because Atmos books oneworld partners, you can also connect through other West Coast gateways that have Heathrow service. The best alternatives, all reachable from any island on Alaska or Hawaiian:

  • Los Angeles (LAX), the strongest backup. Both American and British Airways fly LAX to Heathrow daily, and LAX is an easy hop from Honolulu. Choosing American-operated metal keeps your taxes and fees low.
  • San Francisco (SFO). British Airways flies SFO to Heathrow daily, a simple connection from the islands.
  • Also possible: British Airways serves Heathrow from San Diego, Portland, and Las Vegas too, just with less frequency and fewer award seats.
Good to Know

British Airways flights can add high carrier-imposed surcharges to an award, sometimes hundreds of dollars each way. The Seattle nonstop on Alaska's own metal, or an American-operated flight out of LAX, keeps those fees low. That is a big part of why Seattle stays my top pick.

A Secondary Option if You Have American Miles

Here is a nice trick for anyone sitting on American Airlines AAdvantage miles. American prices the same Seattle to London business seat at just 57,500 miles one way, whether it flies on Alaska's 787 or a British Airways 777 or 787. That comes in below even Atmos's discounted suite days, so if you already have the miles, it is worth a look for the front cabin.

The reason this is a backup rather than the main plan for us is simple: AAdvantage miles are harder to earn in Hawaiʻi. They mostly come from AAdvantage cards or flying American and its partners, while Atmos points build up naturally from everyday spending. If you do have them, though, here are the dates with 57,500 business space, booked on aa.com under the use-miles option:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fly to London from Hawaiʻi with Atmos points?

Yes. Economy runs 30,000 points one way and business suites around 150,000, dropping to 75,000 or 95,000 on discounted dates. From Hawaiʻi you connect through Seattle, and Alaska can ticket the full HNL to LHR journey on a single award with a free Seattle stopover.

What is the cheapest way to fly business class to London?

With Atmos, watch for the discounted suite dates at 75,000 to 95,000 points. If you happen to hold American AAdvantage miles, business on the same flight prices at 57,500 miles one way, which is a handy secondary option.

How do I book the trip from Hawaiʻi?

The nonstop only runs from Seattle, so from Honolulu, Kahului, Kona, Līhuʻe, or Hilo you connect through Seattle onto the London flight. Book the whole trip on one Atmos award, and price the through-fare against two separate one-ways to find the cheapest routing.

Scottie's Take

I love that we can finally reach London on our home airline's plane, booked with the points we already earn. For most of us, Atmos is the move: economy at 30,000 is a steal, and if you are patient, a discounted suite at 75,000 gets you across the Atlantic lie-flat for a fair price. Set a reminder to check those suite dates, and pounce when one lines up with your trip.

If you happen to have American miles too, keep that 57,500 business option in your back pocket, it is a nice edge for the front cabin. But you do not need it to make this work. Atmos gets you there beautifully. Have you booked one of these yet? Drop a comment or send me a message. I would love to hear how it went.

A hui hou, Scottie
