What just opened at Hilton Hawaiian Village?
Doraku Sushi opened a two story restaurant inside Hilton Hawaiian Village, making it the brand's fourth Hawaii location alongside Royal Hawaiian Center, Kakaʻako and Kapolei. It is an Aoki Group izakaya concept, so shared plates, sushi, cocktails and a room built for a long dinner rather than a quick one.

What happened to the Royal Hawaiian Center location?
It closed on July 29, 2026. The third floor space that had been there since 2008 is done, but this is a move rather than a goodbye. Doraku is relocating downstairs to a new ground floor space at Royal Hawaiian Center, near Dean & DeLuca, with a reopening targeted for around December 1, 2026.
Treat that December date as a target and not a promise. Doraku has not posted the move on its own website yet, and restaurant reopening dates slip all the time. If you are planning something around it, call ahead. Until then, Hilton Hawaiian Village is the only Doraku in Waikiki, which explains why the new one has felt busy since it opened.
Does the Hilton $18 dining credit work at Doraku?
No. The Hilton Honors daily food and beverage credit does not apply at Doraku Sushi. Hilton Hawaiian Village publishes the exact list of outlets that accept the credit on its own resort page, and Doraku is not on it. Nothing got taken away here, the restaurant is simply new and independently run, and it sits outside the resort's credit program for now.
Worth knowing the mechanics, because people get this wrong. Hilton's program rules do allow participating third party outlets to accept the credit at some properties, so it is not a blanket rule about anything the hotel does not operate itself. The list is set property by property, and right now Hilton Hawaiian Village's list does not include Doraku. That could change, which is why it is worth asking again on your next stay.
The dining credit only applies if you booked directly through Hilton. Book the resort through a third party site and you do not get the credit at all, no matter which restaurant you walk into.

What I would do instead
Spend the credit early in the day, then pay for Doraku with the right card. The $18 resets daily and does not roll over, so treating it as a breakfast and coffee budget is the cleanest play. I use mine at the Starbucks on property almost every time, coffee and something to eat, done before 9am, and the whole thing stops being a decision I have to make later.
The other half is what you swipe at dinner. Doraku codes as dining, so a card with a dining multiplier is doing real work. I am happy this one landed here. Doraku has been a reliable Waikiki dinner for years, and with the Royal Hawaiian Center room dark until December, having a two story space at the Village keeps it in the rotation instead of off the map for four months.
On the $18, I would not let it change your plans. Eighteen dollars is not a dinner in Waikiki no matter where you spend it, it is a coffee and a breakfast sandwich, which is exactly what I do with mine. Use it early, then go eat somewhere you actually want to eat. The credit was never a good reason to pick a restaurant. What matters more is the card in your wallet when the check comes, and that part you fully control.
