In its February 13, 2026 announcement, Delta said the route would return December 19, 2026, flying daily through peak late-December before dropping to four weekly frequencies for the rest of winter. You will see January 5 reported elsewhere. Simple Flying published the same Delta statement with that date. I am using January 4 because it matches the 7:37 a.m. arrival Delta gave and it is the only date where the 17-day figure adds up.
Why does this matter if you live in Hawaiʻi?
After January 4, 2027, there is no nonstop in either direction between Hawaiʻi and New England. For island families with Boston ties, that means adding a connection and usually a full extra day on the return.
I will be fair about the demand, though. US Department of Transportation data for April 2024 through March 2025 showed 149,800 round-trip local passengers between Honolulu and Boston, roughly 410 a day, with Hawaiian holding 48 percent. Split across two carriers on a nearly 12-hour widebody leg, that is brutal math. Three attempts by two airlines have now ended the same way.
