The New Amex Centurion Lounge Now Open in Tokyo , Japan at Haneda Airport(HND).
Aloha Hawaii Travelers,
If you’re flying from Hawaii to Japan, we’ve got exciting news that could make your airport experience even better. ✈️
It’s official the first Amex Centurion Lounge in Japan is now open! And for Hawaii travelers heading to Tokyo, this is a major upgrade. 🎉
As of July 15, 2025, the Tokyo Haneda Centurion Lounge is now welcoming travelers in Terminal 3. If you’ve ever flown from Honolulu (HNL) to Haneda (HND), you know how busy this airport can get — so this is a game changer.
Let’s break it down for our Hawaii Reward Travel 'ohana:
💺 Lounge Location & Access
📍 Terminal 3 – Tokyo Haneda International Airport
After clearing passport control, the lounge will be located in the North Satellite area — super convenient for international departures
If you're flying ANA, Hawaiian, or JAL, there's a good chance your flight will depart from this terminal!
🥢 Food, Culture, and Aloha Vibes (Tokyo Style)
Amex is promising the usual Centurion Lounge perks, gourmet food, premium bar, fast Wi-Fi — but this one will have a Japanese twist.
What to expect at the new Centurion Lounge.
4,000+ sq ft of stylish, Japanese-inspired design
Locally curated food menu by celebrity chef Yuta Suzuki of Sushi Ginza Onodera (yes, the Michelin-starred sushi spot with a location in Honolulu 👀)
A full premium bar with cocktails, sake, and espresso drinks
Quiet spaces, private work areas, and high-speed Wi-Fi
Bathrooms and showers available for freshening up between flights
Family seating and accessibility features throughout
If you’ve experienced any other Centurion Lounge before, you already know — this isn’t your average airport lounge with stale crackers and weak coffee.

💳 Who can get into the Centurion Lounge
If you have one of these cards, you're in:
Card Type | Access Details |
---|---|
Amex Platinum (Personal or Business) | Free entry for cardholder + Guests - As of Feb. 1, 2023, the ability to bring in two guests at no additional cost went away for most cardholders. Now, unless you spend $75,000 or more each calendar year on your card, you’ll need to pay $50 to bring an adult guest ($30 for children ages 2 through 17) into the Centurion Lounge. Entry limited to 3 hours before departure. |
Amex Centurion (Black Card) | Same access as Platinum with added concierge perks and elevated priority service. |
Delta Reserve (Flying Delta Only) | Not eligible for access to this lounge unless you also hold a Platinum or Centurion card. |
🛑 Pro Tip: Access is limited to 3 hours before your flight, and your boarding pass must be for a same-day international flight.
✨ Is the Amex Platinum Worth It Now?
If you're a Hawaii traveler doing even one international trip a year, the value of lounge access like this (plus others in SFO, LAX, SEA, etc.) can easily help offset the annual fee.
This is especially true now that Japan has its own Centurion Lounge and it’s in the airport we most commonly fly into from HNL.
🌺 Our Take from Hawaii Reward Travel
If you’re flying to Tokyo from Hawaii, chances are you're landing at Haneda (HND) — the preferred airport thanks to its closer proximity to the city compared to Narita (NRT). Both Hawaiian Airlines and ANA fly this route from Honolulu, and many of our Hawaii Reward Travel 'ohana book these flights using points and miles (especially through Virgin Atlantic transfers for ANA).
I was the fence on getting the American Express Business Platinum for our company, Hawaii Reward Travel, but this new lounge has pushed me over the fence. We frequently fly to Tokyo for business and this would be a nice perk for us! I’m hoping to apply soon, but debating whether or not to wait of the AMEX PLATINUM refresh to occur, which AMEX announced for this fall.
We’re stoked to see the Centurion Lounge network expand to a destination so many Hawaii locals visit. More comfort. More value. More reasons to fly smart.
